Sent her another "another week evaporated" note today. why email? Cause her phone mail is always full. Have for the last 4 weeks been communicating via email with the local Tesla rep. finally got an inspector to come out.Tesla had forgotten the job wasn't finished and I had to chase them (like every other aspect of the project) city inspector came out and reported back to Tesla about 5 open items. That was Jan 22 and I'm still not plugged into grid. bottom line I just did it myself and they finally credited my account. they wanted to get a contractor in etc etc etc. Spent the next 3 months back and forth with tesla telling them I would finish the enclosure myself. they had clearly never done sheet rock before and I sent them home. They were going to do the enclosure for me (rather than me sub contact which you have the option to do).I came home at 630 PM from business trip to find 3 guys in basement with sheet rock and joint compound freestylin' it. That change sent the whole project sideways and they still haven't recovered. they misquoted the battery enclosure and the design had to change day of install. am a big fan and totally geek out on the data and app. When the system is running flawlessly, really can't beat the price and functionality (I really wanted Powerwalls). It's been a process but once the engineer reached out and gave me his contact info any issues I've had are usually taken care of same day or within a week.Īt the beginning of the process I wouldn't recommend Tesla for solar, but at this point they've corrected their wrongs and I'd recommend it again. Spoke with engineer and that was fixed in about a week. Had an export limit of 4 kW for excess solar. He had that switched back and it worked fine.Įnrolled in VPP program.

Engineer said system was "batched into the wrong group" when they were editing stuff on the back end. Next day system switched back to pre-PTO status. PTO approved later on but system would not switch over to export excess production. Spoke with engineer and those were fixed after a couple firmware updates. Had intermittent Powerwall dropouts for an hour or so every couple days. Was such a long and drawn out process that an engineer reached out to me specifically because the service was so bad and he apologized and gave me his contact info. It took about a month for them to come out after the initial installation (a couple days after refusing the inspection) and rewire it before it started working. This all happened to be at the end of the quarter, so the inspection coordinator said it was a good time to refuse the inspection as they were trying to close accounts for the quarter numbers. Tesla tried to schedule the city inspection in the meantime and I told Tesla I would not allow them on the property for an inspection until I was shown a working system. I called daily for three weeks as the customer service line would just keep on saying "the engineers are looking at it" and no progress was made. Two recent road trips from JAX, FL West Palm Beach, FL & JAX, FL Asheville, NC in the hot summer months confirmed this.My system was installed not functioning (the electrician miswired the communication wiring for the Powerwalls). I find with the tint, ESPECIALLY the CR90 on the pano & windshield, in the summer months on road trips helps the A/C so it doesn't have to work nearly as hard and thus consuming more energy. As we know bumping the A/C up by 1F can have an impact on energy consumption. while I didn't think much of this since you can turn the car's A/C on remotely, what I didn't anticipate was the benefit to road trips. It has a huge impact on the heat in the car. FL law says no darker than 15% on front doors & 20% behind that. The 15% is technically illegal where I live (FL) but had no issue from cops (knocking on wood). couldn't do it the same day as the CR90 since it was still a bit wet). Video & pix below (the strip on the windshield isn't them as I had that added yesterday. this is 100% clear (you can't tell it's even been applied at all except in the area where the teflon strip & dots are along the edges) & blocks 99.97% UV. The pano sunroofs & windshield also have 3M Crystaline (CR-90) on them. WHAT: I've got 3M FX-HP 15 (15% light allowed thru) on all doors, the rear windshield & in a small strip across the top of the front windshield.
